With continuous practice in corporate law, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets, Carlos Motta has built his career at leading law firms in Brazil and abroad.
He was a partner at one of Brazil’s largest law firms for two years and subsequently served for sixteen years as a senior partner at a global law firm, where he spent years as co-head of the Corporate & Securities practice. In that role, he led teams across more than twenty-seven offices in the Americas, Europe, and Asia, coordinating highly complex strategic mandates in corporate and capital markets transactions.
He earned his Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Stanford Law School in Palo Alto, California. After completing the program, he was invited to work for one year in New York as an international lawyer at one of the world’s most prestigious global law firms, returning to Brazil at the end of 2005.
